CHEF RAKHI PURNIMA DASGUPTA
Daughter of celebrated food writer Minakshie (Kewpie) Dasgupta of Calcutta Cookbook fame, Rakhi Purnima Dasgupta hails from a family of four generations of cooks and gourmets.
Rakhi discovered her passion for food while a student in London, and followed through back home in India with pioneering eight course Thai meals at her ‘Gourmet Club’ in Delhi in the early 1990s, and the amazing ‘Kewpies Kitchen’ – Kolkata’s premier Bengali cuisine destination – housed at her 120-year old family home. Rakhi is a prolific food columnist, having authored hundreds of articles, and has participated in leading food shows, both national and international, including the BBC’s A Taste of India by Madhur Jaffrey.
