Until recently, Sima Ahmed was Kolkata’s best-kept culinary secret. Known for the delicious home-made Awadhi feasts she rustled up on special occasions for friends and family. Her secret weapon – a special mix of roasted spices she freshly grinds at home.
Sima’s Kitchen Secrets came about thanks to the insistence of Sima’s daughter and daughter-in-law. Its name is a nod to the family secrets the menu draws from – Yemeni cooking traditions that found their way into the kitchens of Awadhi nobility, passed down for generations.
