Srabani Mukherjee’s family dinner table was a microcosm of Bengal’s culinary diversity. Her mother, her biggest influence, was an ace cook who hailed from Chittagong, and Srabani honed her skills as a child helping her at the kitchen. Her father came from an anglicised Brahmo family and loved experimenting with continental cuisine. Srabani’s second mother’s Christian heritage introduced her to Bengali Christian favourites like sausage curry and rose cookies. 

A hotelier through and through, Srabani has been with the Oberoi Grand for 26 years, and started Ma’s Soul Kitchen in 2020.
